removing fuel injectors

stuck on step 1... Bentley says to remove the connectors at the front of the engine and the single connector below the center of the intake manifold... problem is, is that the connector goes into a steel plate where the opposite end screws on to versus the other way around. Second problem, is that the wiring harness is very firmly attached to the fuel injectors, and the Bentley speaks of nothing other than to "gently pry the harness away from the injectors"... am i missing something?

there are little clip type deals that hold the wires on the injector. On my V8 they were such a pain i just yanked it off and when I reassembled made sure they were real tight on the injectors when I tightened it back up.

There are also small metal clips that keep the fuel rail on the injectors that must be removed before that comes off.
