My 2nd vehicle is an 1986 Isuzu Trooper II and has over 300k miles. The headgasket finally blew on it yesterday.

I want to perform a down and dirty replacement of the gasket only.

Has anyone ever worked on the 2.4 gasoline Isuzu motor and would care to share thier wisdom.

id figure out if the gasket died from age or if something killed it or you may get some practice doing it again. i have not done one of these but bill r probably has

um...i deleted my old post but yeah, you got your money's worth out of it if you blew it at 300k miles, the isuzu 2.4 and 2.6 headgaskets can blow below 100k miles (not usually the neglect condition like a bmw i6). are you sure its the head gasket....they can bend/burn valves....are you certain like with a milkshake, or are you just having indeterminate compression problems.
