My 1990 535 air conditioner is not working- blows hot air only. Live in SoCal, need it to work. Any ideas??

check heater control valve it maybe stuck.Try banging it a couple of times(gently) with a hammer then start the car see if it works if not it could be a myriad of things including loss of freon,leak, etc,.

I replaced the HCV last year.

Make sure that the compressor's clutch engages when turning the A/C on. If it doesn't check the relevant fuses in the fuse box....other possibility is a low Freon charge.
