Why Bimmer......... as a newby to the bmw forum , it struck me that different acronyms or slang were used to to describe bmw throughout the world.
The term 'bimmer' was new to me , in the UK you would generally say 'beemer' or 'bm'.
Although I recently picked my son up from school and his friends told me it mean't 'black mans wheels' or 'big mans wheels' .

Any other offers??

One of the first things I told my son about BMW, that it was the acronym for Barvarian Motor Works, and the Roundel, was actually an airplane prop, because BMW made airplane engines in the early 1900's before the war.....(history lesson, made him look it up)

Even after all these years, his friends have never used any other nomenclature to describe these cars. They love to be taken home in the M5, and woo, and say how one day they will own a BMW and love riding in the 318iS.

Not everybody gets it.....and that, is good for us. How else will we find low mileage, unbeat, cared for, BMW's???

These would be dubs = 20" or larger rims, they're ghetto fab.

It's too bad it's not MBW, otherwise I'd call it Mr Bigglesworth. "When I get angry, Mr Bigglesworth gets upset. When Mr Bigglesworth gets upset, PEOPLE DIE!!!"

Bottomless Money Well (thought of that one when my M5 rebuild ended up costing 2-3x what it should have because I couldn't stop with upgrades - and trust me I could have kept going but I just ran out of $)
