Hey Everyone:
I am new to the Bimmer World...
Got a 1990 520i... Want to replace the Analog Clock with an OBC, but so far unsuccessful in finding a replace @ the yards...
However, I have found a couple of the digital clocks.
Installed them, but they will not work.
The 12:00 shows up. The unit lights up, but I cannot set the time.
The part # I have is 62 13 1374 288..
Any help with get this unit to just show me the time would be appreciated.

Thanks

He successfully retro-fitted an OBC into his E34. Search his posts or drop him a line....here somewhere. (http://www.bimmer.info/forum/member.php?u=33)

Good Luck...

Thanks, I sent him a note.
He got the OBC though. I am not that lucky yet.
I just have the digital clock with the outside temp display.
Of which I don't have the sensor for that.

Brian:

Thanks for your quick replies...
That is where I got the idea to get rid of the clock.
Now if I could only get them to send me a working OBC for a 1990 520i. :)
I am saying all this with a smile.

But thanks again you have sent me to the places that would be helpful.
I was hoping someone else had the same issue I had and fixed it already.

I do have the same problem, but just like you I still haven't found a solution (I actually installed the digital clock just a few minutes ago, but the 0:00 is already starting to bug me).

Anyone figured it out yet?

Arctic Yaadie, did you try installing the temperature sensor? It's missing in cars that came with the analogue clock. Could that be what's causing the thing to not function as it should?

Hey I didn't get your message, but I'll check this post if you have any more questions. As you said, I installed the obc so can't help with your digi clock problem. I know that for the obc, the 518's and 520's had a different version of obc than the rest of the range, you would have to ask someone liike winfred if the digital clacks had a different version but I highly doubt it.

I just got the outside temp sensor from the dealer, just to make it easy even though it cost more than the obc. If you didn't already have the outside temp sensor, the yellow plug for it is at the top of the radiator next to one of the horns, just visible through the kidney grill. I didn't know it was hidden up there, and spent hours and hours looking for it, tracing wires, and dismantling a lot of hte front of the car..... Hopefully this peive of info can save you my troubles!!!
