Here is another E34 wiring diagram for E34, seems to be a EURO spec from the engines listed : 5 Series - E34 (518i, 520i, 525td, 525tds, incl. touring) Schematics Model year 1994
that includes all lights and even Daytime light coding diodes, V4 *6300.0 , probably U.K. version

DRLs in e34?

Wonders will never cease.

You don't happen to have a schematic for the e34 518iev hybrid cvt limousine (https://web.archive.org/web/20040219141434/http://www.metricmind.com/data/bmw.pdf), do you, Erich?

Not sure if it's still slated for release or not, but I am starting to get worried it will never make it before they make a modern model in full electric :-D

Interesting article from 1995 about the E34 Hybrid. But that was a bit early in those days, as they mentioned in the article, the heavy battery was then still a problem.

It was indeed. Who would have thought The Prius was just a copy of an e34?

Though I a doubt it included regenerative braking, as my German is nowhere near good enough to read the article :-(. I don't think in 1994 they would have termed it 'Regenerative Bremsen', so maybe I missed the explanation if there is one. Certainly some incredible history that someone was innovating with CVT+M42+EV.

And it looks like a radial electric motor, too!

IIRC that article was posted here many years ago. As it pre-dates pdf with text, translation does not work, without OCR.

Regardless, I was very happy to get it added to the E34 page on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_5_Series_(E34)), where others have added more info over time.

That E34 Hybrid had regenerative braking, mentioned on page 1 of the article. ....kann so ein Auto beim Bremsen Energie zurueckgewinnen, indem der Elektromotor auf Generatorfunktion umschaltet und die Batterie laedt.
