View Full Version : Automatic door locks....

My doors will suddenly unlock themselves in the summertime. Here in Phoenix, AZ, It is already around 105 in the middle of the day. This never occurs in the cooler parts of the year. Somehow, it seems, the heat is causing something to expand (or contract) and causing the problem.

If I lock it from the outside using the key, it stays locked, so far. But, when driving around, they pop up. I can have a nice little sparring match with them when I get bored. Up, down, up, down, up - you get the picture.

I have tried to do a lock resync, but to no avail. Also, they seem to be shorted to something. When you make a move like a hard brake, hard acceleration, or quick lane change, the locks open. I feel like there is some tiny, intermittant electrical short that has crept in this past summer.

Very frustrating. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

if you can't pin the tail on the "monkey," then go to these posts and wade your way through and check out the sites.
