Anyone ever changed out their steering wheel. The wheel in my 95 540i is looking rather ratty, so I'm looking at this one.

8373

It is an M-Tech 3-spoke wheel, 385 mm in diameter. The wheel in my car is 395 mm. Anyone ever used this wheel?

No airbag?

This was covered long ago, I'll see if I can find any of the old threads.

I looked at those (2) links and did a search on steering wheels and find nothing that was of any help. Evidently, I'm on new ground here.

There was other threads with more detail but this v-bullitin search feature kinda sucks.

haven't used this one but can contribute several experiences to this;

1. changed the steering wheel on my 540 to one the PO had spare in order to reskin the original; look same but wiring inside for airbag was slightly different so no airbag and hence constant airbag warning. pain in the ass and hit kangaroo with no airbag. bumma!
2. my 535i has the same steering wheel like the one u pictured, it feels friggin awesome and I like the M logo and old school feel, but as with these cars nothing beats original spec cause it was done for a reason; ie do a quick uturn etc and the diameter just not quite right ok; now and then ok but annoying sooner or later.
3. after modding a few e34's I am strictly now an original spec owner from now on

for your consideration my friend
