I replaced the fuel pump today. I bought a copy walbro 342 item from alibaba. The car started on the third try so I know the wiring and rubber lines are going to the right places. I also replaced all the rubber lines going after the hard lines.

Took 3 goes to pump the fuel with new pump installed.

Hey Kris, Looks good mate. Just need more pics! :)

Are you sure the pump is 'hanging low' enough in the basket? It looks to me like the inlet won't sit on the bottom of the tank. You have to mount it in the tank and push it down all the way, then lift it 3mm or so so the inlet is not jammed against the bottom too hard so the fuel flow gets restricted.

If you don't you'll run out of fuel pressure even though the tank is still 1/3 or less full... don't ask me how I know, lol!

yes, I tried to be aware of that.

I tried to align the new pump to were both of the "socks" would fit in the tank.

Oh good.

In the past I've found it's hard to be sure.

What I do now is pop some spare fuel in the boot when I fill up, then drive around until dangerously low, trying to measure how much of the initial 80 litres has been used. I don't fill up until down to a calculated 5 litres or so left- and I try to goto starvation point where I can refill with the spare fuel safely when it does run out.
