Found this on an E36.

Here copied how it is done:
the lip is an edge liner aka brick liner, garden liner from home depot. Cost $9 and its almost a perfect fit for the non-M bumper. I only had to cut maybe 1/2" on each side.

This is the label off mine, it's in the garden center. Brick paver edging, they're about 6 ft. long and are near the pavers, just standing on a shelf bin.
For the plastic garden liner, use self tapping screws. For the rubber garage door lip, use double sided tape, and screws and washers if you want.
I used the garage door seal and used nuts, washers, and bolts. It turns out that self tapping screws go right through.
After a couple off weeks, it was coming off. Double sided tape works best for the rubber lip.
