Been thinking about replacing my tired M20 with a new upgraded power plant. I have noticed that there is a few companies out there that do this:
Korman, Bavarian Engine Exchange and Metric Mechanic to name a few. Does anyone know who makes the most dependable and powerful engine for my E34? I am looking for the most bang for my buck here. Anyone have any praises or horror stories about the above companies? Or is there one I missed that would be better? Thanks for your time.

i am trying to find time/money to build a performance m20 for my 90 325is, i am using a 85 524td forged crank to take it from 2.5 to 2.7 liters and some 9.5-10:1 overbore pistons (haven't decided yet) to take that from 2.7 to 2.9 liters, plus some extrude hone work a lumpy cam mabie some bigger valves and a updated injection system, it should fart out 210-220 hp. at long as it eats the bosses e36 m3 in a street drag ill be happy (and i think it will)

Ireland Engineering has some interesting M20 stroker kits. Not sure if they sell complete engines though.

Turbo for the same money and eat almost anything on the street. Our 325i made 259rwhp non intercooled and likely 325rwhp intercooled. Last fuel stop the car achieved 27.5mpg with the 2.93LSD.

Did you have to beef up the internals of the engine? I have over 220K on my engine so it needs a rebuild anyway, what do you recommend I rebuild it with for a turbo setup and what turbo are you using to get 260hp?
