My 1985 325e was wrecked/bottemed out. Lost pan oil pump times 4 minutes. Shop has no guarentee fixing since no oil pressure. Probably will cost $1500. 6 hours labor plus pan and pump. I am second owner 175000 mi. Garaged kept no rust. Fixable? Is engine OK?

for less than that money you get a good used working engine. Check on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market (http://car-part.com/)
ot try the known recyclers like for an E30 325 engine
BMW Parts used and rebuilt bmw auto parts (http://www.bmrparts.com/index.htm)

3 Series on the road again after minor accident running up and over curb. Oil Pan and Oil Pump replaced with used parts from Craigslist. Front end aligned but car was true.
Intermittent wipers inconsistently work? Is motor bad or bad contact on steering wheel. Dan

check the sensor for speed. I do not know how it is on your model, but on the E34 and E32 the speed sensor is at the rear of the final drive and also gives a signal to the wiper, as in that models it is speed dependant
BMW E34 Website (http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Maintenance/Electrical/speed_sensor.htm)
check where the speed signal comes from on your model
