Hi guys,

I have a 95 M3 with 200k+ miles on it. It currently needs a head gasket (the head might even be cracked, don't have it off yet) and the hole for spark plug #4 is loose so I sourced another good head from an M50. It is complete and suppose to have only 90K miles on it. I know the M3 head uses different valve springs (going to swap in my M3 cams). What are my options for valve springs? Here are the 3 I can think of, let me know if I missed any.

1. Keep the existing M50 springs
2. Switch over the M3 head components <- Would probably want to replace the springs with new OEM parts but at least I have the other valve components already
3. Aftermarket solution?

Anyone have personal experience with this? I like using factory parts but I don't have a lot of extra cash right now.

Thanks!

Is that M3 a US version of EURO version? The engine are completely different.
Maybe you first use your VIN and check the original parts in the head on RealOEM.com Online BMW Parts Catalog (http://www.realoem.com)
and then compare it with a normal M50 head.
