reinstalling headrest question

While I was working on my new seats I pulled the passenger side headrest up. Now it doesn't react to the switch.
Is there some special procedure for reingaging it? 1994 540 sport seat in a 1990 535i

If you can still hear the motor running then you haven't got the headrest posts clipped into the mount. Slide it all the way down then give it a whack down and it should click into the mount.
