Show us your guibo

I just replaced the guibo on my 525i (and in the process replaced rear transmission seals and shift linkage). The guibo job in particular was long over due, as you can see in the photo. So, I was curious how bad other people's guibos looked when they were finally replaced. Did anyone wait until it shredded completely?

Mine was done at 180k or so. It was cracked and frayed, like the rubber had some fibers on it. The mechanic had it out, it looked like a rotary wire stripper you'd fix on the end of a drill.

Mine was for sale in the classifieds way back when, yours looks better though.

Indeed... a little buffing compund, elbow grease:it'll be good as new again!
