Have a buddy with an E30 sedan that failed safety inspection recently. They said the parking brake needs to be tightened.
I sat in the car and pulled the lever. The P brake seems to hold the car just fine, and the handle pulls up to a normal level when engaged. The only thing I noticed about it is that the release button at the end of the handle is recessed in a bit and is sort of a trick to push in to release the brake.
I assume that this button has a return spring inside the handle somewhere that should push it back out? Can't believe that the tension in the brake cables themselves would effect this button.
