So after having severe CLONKS at braking and accelerations for a long time, I finally took the dive and changed both engine mounts and hereīs what I pulled out:

Nothing to see before I loosened the bolts and jacked up the engine apart from some wetness, no wonder I had clonks.. The dang thing was/is broken in two! :D

Leaky power steering hoses will do that oily gunky mess.

Yeah the gunkyness is probably mostly pentosin, but the total destruction of the mount takes more than just leaking! :)

Considering the age of the car and probably original... I think that is pretty darn good for a rubber part.

M60 engine mounts are oil filled so that oily mess is most likely from the mount itself. Need to do mine still, but I just bought a set of Revshift poly mounts and will install those instead of the factory style oil filled rubber ones. As quick as M60's eat engine mounts and how much fun the left side mount is to change I figured I'd go with the poly mounts so that they last longer.

Sounds interesting, are you getting them in 95A (hard) or 80A (soft)?

No matter what engine mount... would most likely outlast the car itself.

I ordered the 80A hardness after looking into it a bit.
