Red + clear rear tail clusters - difference between Hella and OEM?

I've just had about enough with my crappy DEPO rear tails (with clear indicator lenses) and am wanting to get something that is better build quality. I shot off an email to bavauto.com to see what they can source for me, asking if Hellas were available, but they said only OEM is available, which isn't that bad anyway.

What I want to know is, is there any difference between OEM and Hella tail clusters? I thought OEM were Hella, but my contact at bavauto told me otherwise.

Had a search thru here and saw a lot of posts that state that the Hella clusters are black-tinted, is this the difference between the two?

Bought factory clears a couple years back and Hella made 'em for BMW.
