Has anyone fitted aftermarket HID lights to their E34? (mines a 1993).
If so, did you have any problems with the blown globes indicator?

A few years back I retrofitted to a 2003 C-class Mercedes and it was just a matter of dropping into the local dealer to have the computer changed to know it now had HID's.

But I doubt thats available on a 1993 E34.
I don't particularly wish to use the resistor loading trick either if I can avoid it - defeats the lower current pull of the HID's plus they can get quite hot.

Hi BigKriss.

Sorry - I should have mentioned that I already have the four HID units and globes.
Taken back off the Merc when I sold it.
They've been sitting on the shelf for quite a while and I thought I might put them on the E34.

I use a relay setup... which engage the resistor circuit only when headlight is off so it never get hot.

I suggest you hook up the HID and see if there is a low beam warning... alot of the modern one has a circuit in there that does the same trick as the resistor relay setup I have.

I installed my HID in 2001

I installed my HID conversion kit 3 years ago, working fine. Cheapo set from China.
