So after 8 months of on and off work, new sheet metal and a few $$, my e34 is back from the paint shop. Starting to put it back together and curious to here others thoughts who have painted their cars. I started working on cleaning up trim and other parts/pieces and its pretty beat up. Has anyone sucessfully reconditioned their trim or should I just replace it all? I was planning on the upper door moldings, but things like bumper trim, grilles etc . I can see the parts bill getting way up there - very quickly.

What can be reconditioned vs. replaced ?

Buy some plastidip or flat black trim paint and call it a day. Anything thats cracked try to buy used and recondition it otherwise shell out the dough for new.

trim paint is cool if prepped right, i just use crap like lemon pledge for the entire car and good.

Yes Pledge bro, dont poke fun til you tried it. Works great on tires also.

While you've got the window trim off. Shadowline. However you do it, shadowline is the way to go.
