Hi,

has anyone had to replace their fuel lines yet ?
Trying to size up if I can do the job with no pit. Does anyone know if the dealer supplied lines come pre-bent ?
My 525 just passed the MOT (yearly saftey check) but with advisory about the fuel lines starting to rust.

it's Items 1 and 2 here:

I seem to remember that the fuel lines are too small for bmw to supply pre-bent, it's something you'll have to do yourself... just phone up your local bmw parts place and they'll tell you :)

The fuel lines come prebent. But you need to cut them, double flare the cut and join togehter again unless you remove the rear passenger side axle carrier. Crawl under the car you'll see what I mean.

I replaced my fuel lines with new ones from the dealer years ago. They cost about £30 for the pair and came prebent. As yaofeng says, dropping the rear axle would be the neatest way to do it but I struggled with it just driving the back of the car up on high ramps. I managed to get them in without cutting them but you have to bend the life out of them to do the job that way.
