The back drivers side door on my 89 535 will not unlock. If you pull the knob up it still doesn't unlock. How the heck can I get this door open? I can't get the door panel off, due to the door being shut. All other doors unlock and lock properly.

Pull a brown fuse under the back seat. One of these two brown ones When you do it will let you pull up on the door lock without it trying to lock itself again. There is a black panel that covers this area but you can see down to the yellow relays. I seem to remember there are 4 small screws holding the black panel.

Cool, I'll give it a shot. I guess then I'll need to remove the panel, and see whats going on why the actuator is stayin in the locked position.:)

First try to get the door unlocked so you don't have to remove the door panel with the door shut. A real PITB. And it can destroy the door panel. But you have to do what you have to do. Let me know if this works for you. Most of the time its the actuator that has frozen or rusted up. You can either buy a new one $$$$ or try to rebuild the old one. I have had limited success rebuilding the old one. A lot of time its the rubber bellows on the actuator that has dry rotted and broken allowing water and crud to drain into the internal switch, It rust these little motors and switches up solid.

The drivers passenger door is stuck locked. I can't pull the panel off either.

Any updates.

Thanks

I should have searched around more.

This really helped.

You have to remove the panel with the door closed.

Remove the seat, door trim (just enough to get space). I also remove the top section of panel (glued it back later) to get access to inside panel.

Pop out pins, pull up and the door panel came off.

I used the other door and trim areas as an example on how things come apart.

Now to fix that door lock. uggg
