Battery went dead flat cos some chump left the light on,it was dead ,completely dead.Charged battery up and reinstalled battery in car.i did the shogun reset and connected everything up.Car was reluctant to start but it did staart and it runs fine ,but it will not idle.Drove home about 20 km witha few stops.Only other symptom out od the ordinary is the deadlocking/alarm doesnt seem to activate.

On another note did anyone ever get to the bottom of the DICE ipod issue/

What are the chances your idle control valve gummed up at the same time your battery got drained? Could it be coincidence?

With the no idle then high idle symptoms, all I can picture is a gummy idle control valve. But then again, I'm assuming the big six has one of these...I've got the little six and don't know your engine.

Could it be that you have an over-rich static condition that the ECU had 'learned' to work around but forgot while the battery was dead? Now it is overcompensating and showing you a high idle...

dont know, but yes the big six has icv,and this big six was also using even more gas than normal just before this episode,
your explanation is credible,i gave the icv a rap before i went out praps that and a bit of heat soak did the job. high idle is normal after battery work, settles down over next day or three

maybe put some throttle body cleaner in the icv and clean it out
