Do I really need to drain all of the coolant to change the auxiliary fan temp switch or is it possible to do without? Crossing my lazy fingers here! :)

No, you don't need to drain it at all, I did mine last year without draining the coolant, however, a very small amount of coolant might spill off the hole while you are swapping the switches, you can check the level later.

Its at the top of the rad (on mine at least) so I wouldnt drain any coolant off.

It is at the top and won't drain coolant when cold.
