When accelerating at full throttle the engine "dies" at 4000 rev. It is like it looses all power. It will continue to 6200 but very slow.
If I ease just a little on the gas pedal it will pull steady up to 5500 rev.

Is there anyone who knows what could cause this problem?

Thanks

Maybe a bad fuel filter or dying fuel pump?

may be just bad fuel filter, if it is full of deposits, it may not allow enough fuel to pass. did you replaced your fuel filter? also replace your oil if it is old, and air filter and clean your injectors. then check it again.

I'm facing the same problem (but still good acceleration),
I have found in my last trip (2150 Km) that I couldn't go more than 220km/h
and my foot is kicked down fully! and before this I could reach 245km/h and still I can kick the accelerator down (the rpm ~5900).
And I have done the following:
- change feul filter
- clean injectors & replace the headers of injectors
- keep changing oil at 2500-3000 km and the second time change oil filter
- I have replaced air filter with a new sport one

One mechanic advice me to look for fuel pump and the electronic accelerator.

Any Idea?
Kindly help...
