Tested the TBS on 95 530ia per the Bentley manual and the readings I got was:
• With the harness disconnected and with ignition on and have 5 volts at the harness.
• Next tested the sensor at terminals 1 & 3 and have a reading of 4k ohms~. So far so good.
• then tested the sensor at terminals 1 & 2 and have a readings of 4k with throttle plate close and continuously to 7k when fully open. Did this three times with the same results.
The Bentley says this should be continuously variable from 1.0k to 4.0k ohms~ without interruption.
Does the reading indicate the TBS to be out of spec and is faulty?
