Decided to replace this vent hose. I had started to notice some traces of engine oil leaking out onto the engine cover and thought I might as well change it. The thing was hard as a rock! It was so hard I had to cut it in half to maneuver it out from underneath the intake. I am hoping it is the culprit for a warm start problem I have. It certainly won't solve all of my issues but it can't hurt to do this.

If this hose was actually leaking, what kind of symptoms would I expect?

idle troubles? start troubles? poor mpg?

I dont know for sure but I would think it could and would cause all of the above, Its been a while since I had the inline 6 but if I remember correctly it will cause idle and starting issues.
