Under hard acceleration im getting a rumble, feels like its coming from the center of the car, its most noticeable between 2k-2.5k and then again way up in the rpms. its not there at cruising or moderate acceleration. it just doesnt feel

PS- For those interested I will bring in the C&D first road test of the E34 535i to work tomorrow, I keep forgetting it... sorry about that guys.

If you're lucky, it just needs a guibo. Check the center driveline support bearing if the guibo doesn't do it.
Don't wait too long to refresh the guibo, eh Tim?

I had a rumble too, but mine turned out to be the catalytics... was more a rattle than a rumble... You'd know whether it was one or the other by leaving your hand on the gear-shift lever/knob... If it rattles through the knob, then definitely drivetrain, if no rattles through the knob, then possibly the cats. One problem that my mechanic totally overlooked in replacing the cats was the crush/flange-bushing between the exahust headers and the front of the cat's flange-mount. Miss that, and your fillings will be rattled out of your skull on firm accelleration. Ask me how I learned -- will never bring my car back to that "bmw specialist" mechanic.
