I want to install some extra gauges in my vehicle for my own piece of mind. I have seen these advertised on Bav Auto but was wondering if these are all the ones I need? I have room for three in front of the shifter in a pod arrangement I have seen elsewhere. Are there any others that would be more beneficial? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have the link as well to the post I saw once regarding making the pod cluster? Thanks.

The VDO oil temp, oil pressure and volt gauges are the ones I used on my 525i, with the orange caps on the bullbs. I used a Hartge Gauge cluster, which I believe is no longer available. It is a heavy rubber item with 3 gauge holes and 2 others for the ASC switch and an additional push on/off switch in it.

I used an adapter for the Oil Pressure and Oil temp gauges, you install it at the existing oil pressure switch location on the M50 motor.
Here's a handy link for you:

I installed my kit around 10 years ago, it has never given me a problem plus it really looks trick.

I just repaired my tranny and clutch to the tune of $3400.00 so I plan on keeping the car and I wanted to monitor things. Did you do the tapping and install yourself on these gauges. I plan on making my own cluster set and have my mechanic do the tapping if it is too much trouble. Thanks for the reply.

There is no need for any major mechanical work on these projects. Adapters are available to suit most gauge sending units. I used the one that retains oil pressure light when I put the gauge in.

I still have not finalized the mount of the gauge:

Gives me some things to think about with this project. I plan on installing them when I have the lower dash out to do the heater core next month. Should make fishing the wiring a bit easier.
