I know it's been asked before but I searched but couldn't find an answer to my problem.I have an 02/89 535i with power seats, no heat no memory. I managed to get a pair of front seats from an 09/93 740i from a clunker program car.
My passenger side harness is the white 12-pin connector with 5 actual wires, now the passenger seat from the E32 had 6 wires. I don't know what the 6th wire did because all the functions work on the passenger side when I connected the plug. The switch lights up and the heat function works.
The driver side is a nightmare. I tested the E32 driver seat and it worked. So when I try to intall it in my car I spliced the E32 harness to power the seat with a jump box connecting the thicker brown and red wires just to try to adjust it but nothing, just a slight click on the switch. Is the memory module keeping it from working? and if so, how can I get the memory to work with just the seating positions?
