My sister in law is purchasing a 2000 BMW 528i E39 M52. All looks good except the passenger wiper does not move. I have noticed that the shaft is actuating but it is just spinning in the arm. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The passenger side wiper has two pivoting points. If the driver side moves it is likely one or both pivots are slipping. See if the following link helps you.

Pretty common on the e39's. You'll see that only one is spinning inside. The other link won't be. If its not too chewed up you can put it on in the correct location and tighten the nut tighter forcing the splines into the pot metal of the arm. Otherwise you just get a new arm for it. I replaced one last with one i got from Patrick at bma. It was fairly pricey though.

You guys were right. All I had to do was tighten the nut. Easy fix. Now all I need to do is pull the headlights and polish them out. Got some 1500 through 2500 grit sandpaper around here some where.
