Hi.
I have the standard heater controls and fan dial.
Is it difficult and involved to fit the more advanced climate control?

Is it just a matter of swapping out the control section and perhaps lugging in a control unit somewhere and a thermister, or is it hugely complicated?

Are there any Threads or website instructions on how to do this and whats needed?

You need to replace the whole hvac box, panel, computer. I don't know if you can reuse your evaporator and heater core. The automatic climate control has the motor controls on each flap, where the more simple setup uses bowden cables to control many of the flaps.

So not a practical upgrade or for the faint hearted by the sounds of it.
