I'm a bit over 180K miles on my 535i and It's time to replace the muffler. I want to know if anyone has good recommendations for mufflers rather than OE.

Ansa is good... I used them in MB cars.

I hear from the M5 boys that they love the Eisenmann Race mufflers. They've sounded real nice in the clips I've seen posted of them.

Personal experience with a Remus on a 540i M-Sport (not mine :( ) makes me want one really, really bad.

I have custom built from down pipe back( cats, muffler, silencer, 3", magnaflow exhaust tipe,). Dropped a substantial amount of weight. 500 out the door.

I've got one from a local specialist, much better and far cheaper than OEM. One thing to be careful of is the sound, its tempting to go for the loud sports types and they sound great but on long journeys that constant droning can be tiresome. I went for the mid sport option, louder than stock but not offensive, sometimes I wish it was a bit meatier but most of the time I'm glad its no louder.
