Mystery coolant leak 530

Driving around no probs, stopped and came back to the car while it was shut off, trail of cool blue. Opened the hood, leaks in the heater valve area from underneath but couldnt see any leaks under hood so I drove it home and on ramps. nothing. level is lower but nothing major. All new hoses and re-tightened most incase. I will tighten the other ones that are almost impossible to get to but still, no signs of leakage.

An clues?

Check the U hose that goes from the aux water pump to the heater valves. Mine likes to leak in the winter and its hard to tell that it leaks. Stick your hand under the pump and see if its wet. Another leak I had was the hoses that go into the firewall. They leaked at the heater valves, and as you know those aren't easily seen from under the car or above it.

Could it be leaking from inside the cabin under the dash, and dripping out down the heater pipe into the engine bay ?

no everything was dry. Tightened all clamps at the back end of the motor and went for a test run...nothing. Must have healed itself.

the twisty hose is also dry, moved it around to check for a leak.

Sounds like you just tightened the hose clamps up and it sealed the leak.
