Can anyone help with this one? Recently bought the above car with an aftermarket head unit fitted and I'm suspicious of the wiring - sound is awful and switching the blower ON turns power to stereo OFF. Also the pre-set memory doesn't work and fade and balance are all out of whack. The car just has 6 speakers and I think they're the standard ones. Unfortunately I can't find a wiring diagram which matches what I appear to have in my car. I need to know which colour wire goes to which speaker. This is the situation at the moment:

FL
blue/brown +ve
blue/black -ve

FR
gray/black +ve
gray/white -ve

RL
green/black +ve
green/? -ve

RR
yellow/brown +ve
yellow/black -ve

Ground - yellow
Aerial - white
+ve - purple
12V - pale blue

These are the colours from the dash not from the radio - I assume they're the BMW ones but I've found a couple of links online to circuit diagrams and the colours don't match.

TIA

Dan

mmm yeah, I've seen it, thanks. But unless I'm being very thick, it's not the same as what I have. Differences between Euro and US maybe?

Ground - yellow
Aerial - white
+ve - purple
12V - pale blue (ignition)
12V - red ? constant power

the above should be right. I redid my wiring on my stereo last night -- 92 520i euro spec
