so i decided to clean them up a bit.

since these are more of a test run before i get some nice 17" style fives i figured i'll see what gets all the horrible gunk off.

turns out some degreaser can go a long way.

after some plain old wheel cleaner, the fronts of the wheels cleaned up pretty well.

the backs however....needed something a lil stronger

action shot. give u an idea of how dirty the wheel is.

and here's the actual process. the stuff doesnt stick. so i had to do it in stages so it didnt run.

spray on.
wait 5 minutes.
wipe with paper towel.

during

after a quick wipe away. please note this is the results with no scrubbing.

to get that stuck on gunk off just add the use of ur favorite scraper and you'll have nice clean OEM alloys.

That works for caked on road grime and brake dust? I'll have to give that a shot for the back side of my rims, as wheel cleaner didn't seem to do much for the really long term caked on stuff.

this was my problem. used 3 different wheel cleaners with the rough side of a sponge and barely made a difference.

let this stuff sit and i could see the finish line!!!

as i said, some stuff WILL need a scraper or abrasive pad. but at least this way i can focus on the problem areas instead of the whole wheel being a problem area.

Cool, my schnitzers could use some of that on the backside.. I wonder if oven cleaner foam would have a similar effect? Worth a try since Gunk isnīt available here sadly. :(

i've had guys on other forums say that oven cleaner does a good job as well.
