I need to know why my rear brake lights are falling out on the side of my 1990 e34 525. Or how to fix it

also is this gap normal? I got in a rear end collision and they replaced the bumper.

What gap? The rear lights are held in place by nuts - item 9 here:

Remove the carpeting in the boot (trunk) and you should see what the problem is
