Last week I posted about a 530 the dealer was willing to trade even for my Prizm. I decided against as the car was beat. I was looking on Craigslist and found a 525 5 speed advertised for a grand. I figured it was beat but had potential as a parts car so I went to see it. 208000 miles on it. The car was in fantastic condition inside and out. I was handed the keys and took it for a ride. It ran very good. So I had to have it. The people who owned it, 2 previous owner took exceptional care of this car. I recieved all service and maintenance records that showed how well this car was taken care of, many years of synthetic motor oil, and garage kept too. The interior looks like it was never sat in, perfect. Even with the high milage, I think I got a great deal on a straight clean well taken care of car. I want to thank all the people on this board for the support. I know I'll be asking for help from you all sooner or later.

Sounds like you did pretty well... much better deal than the trade-in you were thinking about. Good luck with it!

if you are posting more than 1 photo then you have to add a link to your photo... click on the photo under 'manage attachments', copy the address, then use the toolbar button with the mountain on it to paste it into your post. looking forward to seeing the ride!

Looks nice. Interior seats look in good shape. Looks like 16 inch mags... can't really tell. Or are they stealies with hubcaps?

Nice catch !

$1000 for "fantastic condition" inside and out, 5 speed, exceptional care, garage kept, all service records, interior like never sat in, synthetic fluids, etc, etc?... almost too good to be true?... congrats!

Thanks guys for the kind words. I think I did get one of those rare too good to be true deals. The seller was a banker and recently got a new car. He just wanted it out of his driveway. The wheels are original bottle caps and will have to do for now. I have my 91 that the trans went out on that started this lucky find. I was looking for a complete car for the trans conversion. Getting parts from all over to do the conversion was not worth it to me. I wanted from the flywheel to the rear, the pedals and all the cluch components. I didn't want to have to find a slave cylinder, the plumbing, the trans mounts or driveshaft. To me having a whole donar car was the only way to go. Now I find myself at odds with what I'm going to do with the 91. I would rather use it for parts then fix it because I don't have the time for it. Its a shame because it is a straight clean rustfree car with only 115000 miles on it. If I decide to let it go, the people on this forum will get first chance at it. I also want to thank all the people who post and reply regularly with great information. You guys are great.
