Hey guys, could do with some confirmation on this one pretty quick if possible!

Need to know if these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/17-Throwing-Star-style-wheels-for-BMW_W0QQitemZ260357320828QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Car Parts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET?hash=item 260357320828&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A13 18 will fit on my 535i (e34 obviously) for definite - as I'm just about to strike a deal with the seller! Had a quick look around but haven't found anything conclusive yet!

Many, many thanks in advance!

Hate to reply to my own post first, but just found this and 'Mike Wong's' post seems quite similar... Is another 2mm offset much? I can never remember which way offset works either, if it's bigger do I need spacers or the other way around? Please excuse my ignorance...

Had to make a decision and I've went for it and agreed to buy... Just wondering if anyone would be interested in my wheels once I get the T-stars on? They're straight and true, tryes have between 4 and 5mm on I think (will check)... They do have some kirbing however but they polish up nicely!

Will take some pic's if anyone's interested! :D

Gosh... you are talking to yourself! Yes, it will fit... it can be as much as 5mm either way.

gotta love the shops that place balance weights on the outside instead of proper...

They'll be 2mm farther out, which is about 1/16th of an inch.

So, higher offsets brings it inwards and usually causes rubbing on the inside.

Some people run 10mm offsets on e34s, so you'll be perfectly fine!

Nice catch!

They'll be fine, but you'll need hubcentric rings to mount them on your car. Those are 74.1mm hubs (E39), and we've got 72.56mm hubs.

But don't you already have hubcentric rings on your current wheels? Maybe you don't and I'm thinking of someone else...

I certainly do thanks though... I'm heading out on the 3hour drive to pick them up now I must be crazy! :D

Listing said they were aftermarket. Fancy for aftermarket T-Stars as the only ones I've seen pics of were one piece cast, and looked bad. Those at least look like the real deal.

Thanks guys! I'm a happy bunny!! ( Besides this virus I've got - feels like I've been eating razor blades :( )

However, the wheels look spot on, I've got them stored in my dad's spare room until I can find some nice tyres for them. They seem a lot lighter than the wheels I have on now but there's no tyres so it could be negligible.

Anyway, speaking of tyres I'm in two minds... On one hand I was looking at getting 235-45-17 all round... On the other I was thinking of putting 235-40-17 on the rear... Would either of these options be pheasible?

Really can't wait to get them on! :)

Run 235/45/17 all around. Don't put 235/40/17's on. E34's do well with PS2's. Quite like 235/45/17 PS2's on my car.

when i first got my car it had 235 45 x 17 on the front and 255 40 x 17 on the back...a poor mans "staggered fitment" perhaps?

Those are proper staggered sizes for an E34 staggered setup. But you're supposed to be running 17 x 9 ET22 on the rear & 17 x 8 ET20 on the front when running those sizes. If you've got 17x 8's all around you should stick to 235/45/17 on all corners. And staggered E34's don't handle quite as well as non-staggered ones do. The 255/40/17's add a little too much understeer.

These are replica wheels, not staggered (8J front and back) so 235 should be fine. That's the width I have on currently and haven't had any problems... Still turkeying to get them on but I've had a fair bit of expense this month (new shocks/springs + road tax) so need to wait for payday to get them rubbered up... :(

So are they one piece or two piece? Meaning can you take the cover off? I'm still rather surprised they replica's as they don't look like any replica T-Stars that I've ever seen pics of.

They're just 1 piece, no covers... I thought they looked like the real deal myself so I jumped on them... There's some other replica's on ebay now - take a look at these:

Are they supposed to be mimicing throwing stars, I don't know?

AFIK Throwing stars are just a 4 spoke wheel and a posh hub cap. IMHO they look better without one.

Yours look pretty good for one piece replicas. That auction for the other set is more like the standard replicas I've seen.

The ghetto replicas always seem to be one sided (real deal has right & left sided wheels). As your replicas are nicer than I've even seen, are there right & left sided wheels to your set?

T-Stars are 5 spoke wheels with a magnesium cover. Some are cast, some are forged. Luckily the set that was stock on my car was of the forged variety. I personally prefer the covers to be on the wheels. The forged ones (17 x 8) weigh 19 pounds with the cover, 17 pounds without as I recall.

I was wondering the same thing... Didn't notice at the time to be honest so will go and have a look tonight out of interest and report back. :D (I'm assuming the 'fins' should be facing opposite ways?)

Nice find, but you went from Liverpool to Swindon for wheels? Nutter! They will look damn good when on though, especially with the sport bodykit.

Hey - I know I'm crazy but it was so worth the 7hr road trip! LOL! They look awesome... Just need to get some pic's of them and post! They've made a difference ride-wise too, it was a bit firm with the lowering springs and the 18" wheels on it... :p

Almost sold my wheels already too, got a guy coming up tomorrow to have a look at them...
