Erich, nice layout, good job. Have you developed any further information about EDC?

Will get 20 sets in about 2-3 weeks from now for EDC III rear shocks with LAD. Have already installed such a set in one Alpina B12 E32 750 since last November and works fine.
No leaks.
Also for normal LAD rear shocks I will get 20 sets of seals/O-rings, I donored 2 LAD shocks and disassembled them completely and sent to seal companies to make me a set to fit.

for EDC III rear the dimensions are

1x seal set S31-18x25.3x3.2 per shock
1 x O-Ring 42x3 per shock

EDC III front shocks I have not done yet, seems to be more complicated, project for this summer.

Erich,

Keep me posted about the EDC III with LAD for the rears. I would be interested in a set for the rears.

Thanks,
JR

Remind me in about 2 weeks. Just got email that they are on the way from Europe to me.
Today delivered to the post office. So for the rear EDC III with LAD no problem.
They are for the upper part only! That is where they leak.

Here our self made tool (not absolutely necessary) for pressing the seal in

Sounds good to me. Were you able to use the seal and o'ring identification numbers from the M5 board?

Thanks again, I'll keep in touch.

Did not use anything from the M5 board. Worked together with FUGO from the German 7-board, he has a E32 750 BiTurbo, he lives in the Czech Republic. He made the repair already 2-3 years ago, and he sent me the seals he used.
We tested them on the Alpina and now I ordered more.
The standard LAD shocks: I sent him the samples of a shock we disassembled in Japan, but he checked it and said he needs the complete shock to see and measure also the steel parts where the seals go in. So he got another complete shock and measured that and now I get the first 20 sets = for 20 shocks. Not tested of course, but that is the risk one always has. But that was the best we can do, disassemble original and find the rigt hydraulic seals. We will test them here in Japan now. So in 5 years I can tell you the long term test result ;-)

+1

And I think that one of the 540LE guys on the Mboard would love a set of seals as he's been trying to get a set from Sportsline for many months with zero luck.

Bubba, did you end up sending your shocks off to have them rebuilt?

Not yet. Still have the 530 assemblies in there. Am waiting to see if Sportsline decides to put a little more effort into their mail order customers. And am also waiting to see if a local with an M-Sport that got wrecked is going to fix it or part it as he just put new EDC's in it a few thousand miles ago.

Great collection.

Couple of broken links on E34post.com in the first Stereo Install section. The "Adding a subwoofer only" link and the two next ones give a 404.
