For those of you with a battery back up for a sump pump.
Works for me and about 5000 CCA for the back up pump.

I meant to ask you if the carbon pile procedure ever "took" for you.

Yes it did. Thank you.
One of 'em in that picture was previously resistant to accepting a charge but is now a-okay. Another one "brought back" has been faithfully serving in this frigid season.

Ross, there is a backup sump pump that uses no electricity. It simply uses your cold water line. When triggered, your cold water line pressure is used as venturi effect to suck out the water out of your sump pump well.

Foolproof concept but it wouldn't work for me as I have a private well. Without electricity there is no water pressure.

Augh! Yeah, well water will be an issue for you. Perhaps you should consider a standby back up generator.

That why it is called standby... it is permanently mounted outside and tied to gas line and power that charges the battery and if power goes out for more than 30 seconds or so, it will start right up and power up the house.

Although this setup really cost money to set up properly.

yes which is why I have a 5000 watter for emergency, a standby is fresh out of my range since it would require a rewired fusebox etc... 1976 yuk.
