Need to fold down the rear seat, but can't as the handle that allowed this broke apart. I think USA cars did not have a fold down seats.

Does anybody know how can I fold the rear seat without that handle? It seems impossible from inside, tried from the trunk, but still couldn't see the mechanism.

Is there not two 'remote controls' in the boot? I gutted an E34 with folding rear seats and the interior levers were knackered too, like yours....

yes there are two levers. but each is to left and right sides of the rear seat. I need to fold down the right seat, and its lever is gone.

I don't have the lever to fold the back side of the seat. it's gone.

Those 'remote control' wires are shown in Shogun's pic:

The white arrow is pointing to one of them. Are you saying that you don't have these either? If your main lever is broken and you don't have the 'remote' wire shown then you will need to remove the back of the seat trim to release the latch mechanism with a screwdriver or similar pointy device.

where is the remote wire? on the third picture I can see the arrow pointing towards the lever, the lever that I don't have.

So you have no lever and no remote cable? Have you pulled the trim off the back of the seat to get to the latch?

what is the remote cable? I really can't understand what it is. There is a lever that you pull to fold down the back side of the rear seat, but I don't see any other cables in pictures.
Trim is the plastic covering around the socket from where the belts come?

Pull the trim off the back of the seat (in the boot/trunk) and all will be revealed. IIRC it's just held on with pop-in clips.

I have rear seats that fold down as well, also my handles are busted.
I removed the seat back carpet(carefully pull) and with a standard screwdriver I wedge between the brass like pin and the latch and push its easy to figure out.
hey do you know of any place that I can find replacement rear seats?
My moron friend borrowed my car and locked the door key in the trunk after disabling the trunk lock. so I had to break the seat mechanism from the inside(dont do this at home)
hope I helped
