The link isn't working for me. I've had no luck finding Pentosin CHF 7.1 at any local parts stores - guess I'll have to go to the stealer...

posted this a long time ago

Pentosin CHF 11S Synthetic Hydraulic Fluid

Pentosin CHF 11S Synthetic Hydraulic Fluid - Fully synthetic hydraulic fluid for steering and central hydraulic systems. This synthetic fluid is correct for many later models which specify synthetic fluid. Temperature range -40C to +130C. Should not be mixed with ATF fluids or other power steering fluids. ***Note - this is currently sold as part # G00200 by Audi/VW as of 1990, replacing Pentosin CHF7.1 The CHF11S is correct for Audi/VW 1990 and later models, while Audi/VW 1989 and earlier models can use either 7.1 or 11S although 11S is recommended. Audi/VW states that 7.1 and 11S can be mixed if necessary but we suggest draining and flushing the system if you are changing from 7.1 to 11S***

1 liter can. Equivalent to the following: VW/Aud# G002000, BMW# 81.22.9.407.758 and 82.11.1.468.041, Porsche# 000.043.203.33, Rolls-Royce & Bentley# RH5000

Pentosin CHF 7.1 Hydraulic Fluid - Special mineral based hydraulic fluid for use in power steering, central hydraulic and suspension level control systems. Should not be mixed with ATF or other fluids. Temperature range -40C to +100C. ***Note - this was sold as part # G00200 by Audi/VW through 1989. As of 1990 Audi/VW is selling Pentosin CHF11S as their part # G002000. 1989 and earlier models can use either although the 11S is recommended. Audi/VW states that 7.1 and 11S can be mixed if necessary but we suggest draining and flushing the system if you are changing from 7.1 to 11S***

I'd prefer to stay away from the synthetic, as I was just going to add, not replace the fluid. It says you can mix, but I don't know...

CHF 7.1, CHF11S, and CHF202 are are high performance hydraulic fluids formulated for central hydraulic systems such as power steering, rear axle steering, level control, hydro-pneumatic suspension, and shock absorbers.

Pentosin Hydraulic Fluids are ideal for cold weather climates, and also perform exceptionally well under extreme temperature changes, with an operating temperature range from -40º F to +275º F

CHF 7.1 is a mineraloil based fluid; CHF11S and CHF202 are synthetic oil based fluids. CHF 7.1 fluid is green in color, and CHF11S and CHF202 are dark green in color. Available in a 1 liter bottle (1.06 quarts).

Pentosin hydraulic fluids are suitable for the following applications:

CHF 7.1: Audi/Volkswagen (1984-1989)
BMW (1987-9/1991)
Volvo (1995-1998)

CHF11S: Audi (1990-2006) TL52 146.00
BMW (9/1991 on); all beginning with model E32
Chrysler Crossfire 05127381AA
Dodge Sprinter (all years)
Mercedes-Benz (staggered S-class models from 1996 on)
Mini (2002 on)
Nissan (1994 on)
Porsche (1995 on)
Rolls Royce
Saab 900 coupe (95 on); 900/9000
(97-98); 9-5 (98 on)
Volkswagen (1990-2006) TL52 146.00
Volvo (3/1998 on)

CHF202: Audi (2006 on) TL52 146.01
Porsche Cayenne (2005 on)
Saab (2006 on)
Volkswagen (2006 on) TL52 146.01
Volvo (2002 on)

Important note on fluid compatibility: if vehicle specifications state CHF7.1, CHF11S and CHF202 can be substituted in place of, but not mixed with, CHF7.1. If vehicle specifications state CHF11S (or CHF202), do not substitute with CHF7.1. CHF11S and CHF202 are fully compatible and mixable. Pentosin CHF fluids should not be mixed with ATF fluids. Always check your owner's manual to confirm the correct fluid is being used for the vehicle.

Anybody knows by chance the Nissan part number?

I had been getting mine from Amazon.com which is about as convenient as it gets but I see that they now only list it for one of their affiliates who jacked the price to $26 + $7 shipping. Guess the next time I order from autohausaz.com I will add a can @$21 to push me over the $50 threshold to get free shipping.

NAPA has CHF11S.

I got some ordered from local supplier and it cost a LOT less than I was planning. Online was nuts! Never checked stealer price or import suppliers.

$19.81 plus tax @ NAPA

Add a low sales tax rate to everything else I miss about living in Florida. Here the rate is 9.75% which puts that can from NAPA at $21.74 out the door. That's not particularly punitive, but the local branch is closed on weekends which is when I have time to go there. Guess a new reservoir and hose is in order since i have been going through at least a can a year.
