View Full Version : Looking for a Sachs kit?

I must be getting creaky in my old age, but I miss the plush ride of the OEM suspension more than I like the lowered look and better handling of the Sachs suspension kit.

Problem is I didn't save my stock springs, so to go back to OEM I need to get the full round of shocks and springs, approaching $1k from BMA. I'd like to soften that blow a bit by working out a sale or partial trade.

$500 for the full kit, or $300 if I get 4 usable springs out of the deal.(+ shipping). Would have to confirm with Patrick at BMA that springs coming off your car would work on my car.

The Sachs kit has been on my 1993 535im for almost 4 years now without any problems. I've had the car for 7 years, and because I don't use it for commuting only put 45k on it in that time. Based on that I'll say there's about 20-25k on the shocks.

The kit is on my car right now, so delivery would have to wait until I had the time to remove it. Would prefer someone in Phoenix so we could swap parts without having to ship.

Any takers?

Dave

I have the stockers from my 530 too.

Dave, I know what you are saying about the harsh ride but in all honesty after I swapped to the boge/sachs turbo shocks it was like I went back to stock. The Bilsteins just beat the crap out of the car and myself. Just trying to give you another angle, hope that helps (HTH)

Huh? I thought the Sachs kit came with Boge/Sachs shocks

That's good info, but I think I'm going to do the springs as well to get the original ride height back. It looks cooler lowered, but I find I'm less concerned about how cool it looks these days.

Dave, the only difference in ride with new springs was the occasional bottom out on huge craters, the ride did not seem to be any different until I bought the Bilsteins, those sucked and bottomed a lot. The sach/boge turbos eliminated bottoming and it really rides smoothly in comparison. Stop on over and you can take it for a spin and then see if you really want to lose the cool look LOL.

Good luck and Happy New Years!
