in personal order of best looking. for me the intake manifold is a major criteria. a clean valve cover without stuff all over as well.

Thought I had one with an engine in it, but I guess not :D

Oh, Jeff, is that your e31? (don't recall the colour). If so, it mighty f'in clean for a Michigan vehicle.

I've never seen a four cylinder in an e34. It looks like a smudge on the transmission ;)

$hit, dropped my socket. Oh there it is.

Not mine, borrowed those links from the for sale page on Wuffers site. Mine has a way to go to get to that point.

I have one. it is always a shock when I open the hood of my 518 after working on my 325.:) but you get used to it.

as a pure mean of transportation... it is the best car ever. why?
lowest taxes on a E34. E34 is my fav chassis. lowest fuel consumption. very confy.
seriously.. on long trip I take my 518i. besides with my 518 I'm never trying to take over other cars or I don't try playing around. it is a more relaxed driving experience. and the sporty seats of the 325 really hurt my back.

And, must be easy to get around when working on it :D I can really appreciate the fuel consumption as well.

As far as an E34 goes, it's hard to beat the M5 style.

I might be biased, but I think the M5 engine looks better than the M3 one ;)

thx for the pictures...
The M engine are indeed massively powerful

but for some odd reason I don't find them "good looking".

The even the M30 look more impressive with its silver bull horn intake and its huge big metallic valve cover.

well. powerful is not necessarily beautiful or handsome. it is desirable though

that pic is pretty impressive... but our brains are biased because of the underlying slavery to power. haha ;)

frankly the intake manifold on the M5 engine is not as good looking as the M70 or the M20. + the average plastic cover. but if I had choice and lots of cash. I would install the M5 engine :)

isn't the valve cover not at a right angle with the radiator on the M5 engine or is it me?

I noticed that too. I think it's just the angle of the picture.

BTW, the intake manifold doesn't look as clean as a M70 because of the individual throttle bodies and the linkages that make then open at the same time.
