First time I've ever seen the words frozen and California in the same sentence.
1. Windshield is junk, press on the crack to see what I mean.
2. The steering wheel has a slip ring to conduct electricity for the airbag which is greased, the old dry grease doesn't work well in the cold. Disassembly and lubrication is one cure, moving to Chicago another as you you will be so f#$#@!$ cold you wont care.
3. Cold bushings, stiff grease and worn parts, it'll likely go away when it warms up or after a little driving.

Hey guys!

so i am pretty sure that most of you guys are aware of the cold weather!

i woke a couple days a go to find my car frozen over...in california!...and noticed a couple problems when i went to drive it...

1) a crack in my windshield...its about 4 inches long...can that be fixed?

2) when i would try to turn the steering wheel it makes a rubbing sound...and its still doing that too! wtf

3) my front suspension sounds like metal on metal...like its frozen...can that happen?

what should i do...or a better question is...what is wrong with my car?

1. No... need replacement. Insurance may cover it.
2. You need to check tires to see if it is rubbing or steering rubbing against something.
3. Sounds like you need to update your front end.... especially the sway bar links.
