hey again, everyone. i posted earlier about trying to find a 5-speed to drop into my e34 535. now that i have found the transmission, ive devoted my efforts to finding the lightest flywheel possible. so far, an 11-pounder was the best ive got, but(not that i think that that's not light enough) i'm trying to get lighter. the 11-pounder was about $660. if anyone knows of a reliable distributor who could get it for my more cheaply or if anyone has one himself(or herself, to be PC) that he is looking to get rid of, all help and any information are greatly appreciated.

FWIW, I'm putting in an 8.5lb'er from JB (the best IMO) for the M5. Unfortunately the guys selling to me don't list anything for the M30... Call JB, see if they could make you one.

My girlfriend has a JB 9 lb in her M3 setup. For an M30, you might just look at getting a used E28 535i setup (single mass), and having it resurfaced, shave a bit of it off. Very affordable, I have it in mine (not shaved down nearly as much as I could have). Lighter, and no dual-mass rattle!

I'm getting it for $400 US.

ive been told to go with the e28 flywheel from others as well, so it looks like that's the one. im about to look for one in bma, but im not sure if they'll have it. anyone know of any place i could get one(preferably used)?

Get an E28 flywheel from a junkyard and have it resurface. Then use E28 clutch kit....

it should fit as well as the e28 flywheel and it's several pounds lighter. the clutch kits should be the same for the e12 and e28.
