Is -37 C the lower limit for the Temp? I ask as I drove for two days in extremely cold temps and it sat at -37 for most of it. I wonder how cold it really was................

Dave

tim eh?

-37 degree C means your OBC means that thing is DEAD. Probably the sensor or the connectors to the sensor corroded.

Maybe, but not if it is, in fact -40 C. Mine is bang on all the time. I was just wondering whether thats the lower limit.

-40? Man, we have sunshine and still + here in Tokyo.
See under
On-Board Computer IV/III Training Reference Book (1.6 MB)
on my old website, which will be closed down soon
http://kunden.tridem.de/auto/erich/auto.htm

Maybe then the indication will not go down further and the OBC is still o.k.
When I disconnect the cable from the sensor, it shows -37 or -37.5 degree C.

Conclusion: that OBC not suitable for your climate.
Donate it to me :p

-40? Where are you now? Sure, it's snowing like heck today, but even yesterday with the wind it's only -20ish.

This was last January near Thunder Bay. We've seen -20 to -25 ambient, but no -40................yet ;)
