M30 Oil Cannister Issues - Need Input

My car was giving me the oil warning after starting. I picked up a used oil canister and installed it. Below is the pic of my old one on right and the used one on the left. The valves look different - does anyone know which is the newer style design? The situation has improved, but I am still getting a delay in oil pressure build. I installed an oil pressure gauge and hot its making 15psi at idle 65 psi @ 5000 rpm - which I belive is in spec. I am thinking I need another canister - but want to make sure it has updated check valve in it.

id toss in a new oil pressure switch with the new housing, they get a little slow and the lower threshold slowly raises as it fills up with sludge

I added an oil pressure gauge with a 7psi warning light interface on it. so the response should be right on. I am making good pressure so I cannot imagine that the issue lies with the pump as its making good pressure.
