just to clarify, i messaged an ebayer selling headrests from an e32 for use in an E34. I questioned this and he said the manual ones bolt onto the E34. He also says he has sold many headrests from an e32 for E34s and has gotten no complaints.

I thought they had different mounting frames.

They are actually a pretty simple retrofit in the E34. Hell, it's not even a retrofit. E34's already have the recess in the seat for the brackets and have outlines on the firewall to drill the holes. You can see how they're fitted into an E34 here.

Only M5's and the Olympic Edition E34's got the headrests in the U.S IIRC.

Did mine long ago... bought all new. I don't remember any of this stuff though.
